Lead Me On offers two types of dog training programs. You have the choice of either having our instructors teach you how to train your own dog or having our trainers train your dog for you.
If you wish to learn how to train your dog, you may choose to participate in group classes, or to have private lessons. Group class schedules begin at the bottom of this page.• Puppy Preschool is designed for puppies under 16 weeks old. This is a group class that meets once a week for a period of 6 weeks. The Preschool class consists of three areas. One area includes teaching your puppy commands such as sit, come, and walk on leash among others. Another area is the discussion of preventing and dealing with problem behavior such as house training, biting, chewing, barking, etc. The third area involves playtime, allowing the puppies to interact - perfect for early socialization experience. Puppy class is limited to 12 puppies. (there must be at least 7 puppies signed up for the class to be held!)
• Beginning Dog Training class is a 6 week course intended for dogs 4 months and older. This class consists of the introduction of some basic commands and the discussion of how to deal with behavior problems. Some of the commands covered in the Beginning class are: sit, heel, stay and come. We also discuss any behavior problems you may be experiencing. Beginning classes are limited to 8 dogs. (there must be at least 5 dogs signed up for the class to be held!)
• Advanced Dog Training class is designed to be a continuation of our Beginning classes. The purpose is to help you help your dog to become more proficient at responding to the basic commands, or any other commands you might have in mind. Another aspect and/or goal of the Advanced class is to earn the Canine Good Citizen certificate. These tests are offered free of charge, every other month. The Advanced classes are limited to 10 dogs. (there must be 5 dogs signed up for the class to be held)
NEW! Also offered a Dog Tricks class - Pretty self explanatory.... this is an advanced training class and it will be offered as an Advanced class on the calendar - so make sure you are signing up for either Advanced Obedience OR Dog Tricks when you register!
• K9 Acting is an advanced-level class, focusing on how to train your dog for movies and television.
• Rally Obedience is a new class offered by Lead Me On. This is an advanced-level class, which will help you and your dog prepare for competition in the AKC's newest Obedience sport.
All of our 6 week classes cost $84.00. You can purchase TWO 6 week classes for only $148.00 or THREE 6 week classes for only $212.00. If you sign up 2 dogs at the same time for classes, your cost is $151.20.(Puppy Preschool/Beginning or Beginning/Advanced)
• Conformation/Handling class is a 4 week course designed to teach both you and your dog how to train for the show ring. You will work on stacking, gaiting, and presenting your dog - as well as learning how best to present yourself! This class meets once a week for 45 minutes and is limited to 10 dogs. (there must be at least 5 dogs signed up for the class to be held!) The cost for these classes is $55.00. We also offer you a chance to "drop-in" on the Conformation classes for $15.00 per session.
NOTE: Dogs under one year of age must show dates of all puppy shots (must have at least 3 DHLPP) and a Bordatella vaccination within the last 6 months. Dogs over one year of age must show a date of the most recent Parvo/Distemper and Bordatella vaccinations within the last 6 months. Puppies going into puppy preschool must show at least 2 DHLPP shots and a Bordatella vaccination.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are 45 minutes in length and can take place at the school location or at your home. We can help you with any behavior problem you might be experiencing. Lessons at the school are $55.00 or you can buy three lessons for $165.00 and get the fourth one free. Lessons at your home are $70.00 or $210.00 for three lessons with the fourth one free.
If you wish to have one of our expert trainers train your dog for you, please consider the K-9 Camp Training Program.
• K-9 Camp Training Program is a 4-week program. Your dog stays here at Lead Me On and works daily with one of our professional trainers, perfecting basic and specialized obedience commands (determined by you and the trainer). Please call Lead Me On for more information. The cost for this program, including a 6-week course, is $625, plus $150 per additional week.
Doggie Day Care
If you are looking for doggie day care or overnight boarding, or even someone to exercise your dog for you while you're away during the day, look no further!
• Doggie Day Camp and Overnight K-9 Camp are Utah's original doggie day care programs. Dogs will have play time, nap time, snack time, and walk or training time. The program is limited to 15 dogs per day. Our facility allows for over 1500 sq. feet of indoor space and 1000 sq. feet of secure outdoor space for the dogs to run and play. The dogs will be supervised by a professional dog trainer. Doggie Day Camp by the hour is also available (please call for an appointment). Please note that we also offer 10 minute walks in conjunction with our camps, for an additional $12 per week day.
Lead Me On also offers Competitive Obedience or Competitive Agility programs consisting of a weekly private lesson and a weekly group class. These programs are $75.00 per month ($135.00 if you sign up for 2 months at a time). We'll help you and your dog get prepared to compete in AKC Obedience, Schutzhund, or any of the various Agility venues!
The times on the calendars are the new classes that are starting on those dates - each class meets for 6 consecutive weeks*, on that day of the week and at that specific time.
(* except Conformation classes, which meet for 4 weeks)
